Oceans, Beaches and all things Water

The water and the beach have always felt like home to me. From family holidays in Coffs Harbour during my youth to swimming days with my grandparents at Cronulla, each memory is filled with fun and happiness. After moving to Western Australia and leaving behind the mountains I once called home, my love for the ocean deepened. In recent years, the ocean has become my grounding place. When times get tough, I head to the beach, and if I can't physically escape there, I find solace in painting ocean scenes. This section of coastal paintings showcases my deep affinity for all things water!

Oil painting of mangroves in the turquoise water against the red coastlines of Broome

Colours of Broome

Once again I tried to capture the colours of Broome in this coastal painting . Broome is such a magical place and an artists dream with its colour pallet unlike anywhere else! From the red dirt, picturesque turquoise oceans and the greens of the mangroves, this place is natures own painting. This scene seemed just right for a long canvas.

At Peace in the Loneliness

Did the sea drown you or save you?

Oil painting of a large full moon above dark blue crashing waves and a starry sky

Sometimes our minds wander through dark places and in times such as these I reach for the canvas or I head for the sea. Inspired by the song "Never let me go" by Florence & the machine, I ponder the ocean under a full moon and how it could easily drown you, or save you.

Oil painting of a few red rocks poking out over a beach in purple twilight sky

A few dying trees stand poking from the lake at Waroona Dam
