Our land is burning
A tribute to resilience and the ashes of January. This piece, was painted in January 2020, a time when the eastern side of our country was ravaged by some of the most devastating bushfires in recent memory. From the safety of my home in Western Australia, there was little I could do but watch the lands I'd known so well as a child rapidly burn. I vividly recall the dangers of bushfires from my own upbringing in the Blue Mountains, and my heart ached for the family, friends, and strangers enduring such immense pain.

The Old Boab
I decided to try working on wood instead of canvas for this piece. Missing Broome and the beautiful old Boab trees you see in our states north, I found myself drifting back there as I painted the old Boab.

Rain falls for feelings
Ever sat in your car, in the rain just watching the ocean when things are tough? It can bring a sense of peace & ground you. This was the image in my mind as I tried to capture that feeling and the blurry vision of the ocean through the rain as it hits the windscreen.
