Welcome to Simplee Art online gallery

Hello, I am Lee.... a Perth based artist who works predominately in oils. I am a self-taught artist who has painted on and off since my early teens. I have worked for 18 years in the disability sector and have run art projects for people with disabilities. In 2013, I was awarded a Pride of workmanship award for one of those projects. For the past 6 years  have decided to focus more on my own art and so developed this website and my  social media accounts to get my work out there. I have since completed a number of commissioned paintings, sold more than 30 of my pieces to buyers across Australia, and have exhibited at a range of exhibitions.

A key theme in much of my work is nature & the natural world. I grew up surrounded by nature in the Blue Mountains of NSW. This is where I developed my love of the world around me and my creative passion grew. I always attempt to express the beauty of nature through my art and have found oils to be the perfect medium; as they create wonderful textures such as those found in the natural world.

 For several years previously, I worked in acrylics and the work was mostly very bright and colourful. Over the past few years I have returned to oils and back to the landscapes and more natural themes I love so much. I have enjoyed working in this medium again have been  excited seeing my work  continue to grow and develop with each new piece. 

As you will see through the images on this site, as an artist I have always enjoyed the creative exploration of new mediums and styles. My artwork is an expression  and a journey I have taken with paper, canvas and paint over the years.

Although my art has always been a deeply personal venture, I have come to realise that art is something that should  be shared. I hope you enjoy viewing my gallery work as much as I enjoy creating it.
